An epic fail shows someone basically “failing” at something, that is to say it just really didn’t go as planned.  It’s humanity at it’s worst, and laughter at it’s best.  Epic fails can also be pics of generally stupid things, they don’t have to be of actual people.

Lolcats are basically pictures of cats doing what they do best – being funny and silly, with added funny captions on them.  Who doesn’t enjoy watching an animal be stupid – especially a cat?

So the question is, which of these two types of pictures has the potential to create more laughs?  I guess it really depends on who you ask.  Some people absolutely love seeing other people in misery, or things going wrong, so their meme of choice would be the epic fail.

I do enjoy a good fail…however sometimes I’m left feeling guilty for laughing at them.  So I have a conscience, sue me. LOL.

For the animal lovers, specifically cute cats, there is the lolcat pic.  There’s something so indescribably cute about watching cats and kittens be generally silly..and seeing it put to a caption just tops it off nicely.

Let’s face it, animals are pretty silly by nature, so catching them in the moments is pretty priceless.  So which one is more funny?  For me the Lolcat pic is the winner.  Probably because I’m a cat person, but also because I enjoy silly animals more than I do watching people suffer or be stupid.

But they both have their notable place in the internet meme world, and to be quite honest they are both awesome.
