I’m just a tad late on this one, but I thought I would review the new Youtube layout and give some overall thoughts as to what I think. MANY people complained about 
this new overhaul, as can be expected. People were used to the old design for a long time. Whenever you change something people are used to, they tend to freak out. The new design has both positives and drawbacks. Here are my thoughts.
General First Thoughts: At first glance, the first thing I noticed about the new layout is that it’s just more noisy. That is there’s more going on. Generally speaking, on the internet, that tends to be a bad thing. People already get very distracted online, and a website design needs to be focused and to the point for easy navigation.
The new design has a pretty clean look for the most part, but with the added left sidebar there is just a lot more “noise”. The sidebar does have some pretty useful features such as showing your subscriptions right there, showing new comments, trending stuff, suggested channels, and more.
So many people would argue that from a user standpoint this is a good thing. I partially agree…but I just like the old way better. In the subscription stream in the middle of the page, you can select “show uploads only”..which will only show you videos that friends have uploaded.
And of course on the right hand side of the page is the recommended video stream, and the spotlight videos. I have to say the new look is more like a blog..which is pretty cool because Youtube is a pretty social place, just like blogs.
My overall thoughts are basically that the design needs to be simpler. There’s too much going on on the page for you to be able to browse effectively, especially on the sidebar. The old design was simple and clean..and there was really no need to change it. And I tend to ignore the sidebar area altogether, as most people probably do too. Most people wanna check their feed..which is the central part of the page.
I’m not a huge fan of the new design..but it’s not so bad that I’m gonna quit using Youtube…because I’m addicted LOL. What are your thoughts? Share this post if you agree!
How viral videos change our lives

Ok, the title may sound a LITTLE bit silly, right? I can admit that. But maybe there is a deeper meaning behind that? Have you ever seen a viral video that was just soo incredibly good, or crazy, or funny, that in some magical way, it just brightened up your whole day?
That may sound a little over the top, right? I know, but you may have answered yes to that question. Viral videos are magical, plain and simple. I’ve seen many viral videos in my time, and they are one of my favorite topics. On some days, I just sit around and watch viral videos for hours when I have free time.
I can’t tell you how fun that is. I could, but you probably already know! You could say viral videos change our lives because they give us hope. Have you ever been so depressed, and then someone sent you a viral video that just made you laugh so hard, it made your day?
I have. Can you relate to that? I know for a fact many millions of people can. Something funny or uplifting can give you hope.
Take the double rainbow video for example….Bear sees a double rainbow in front of his house and basically has a spiritual breakdown, something we can all relate to (hopefully). Those kind of moments are very magical, and spiritual, and show us the true presence of God and His power.
Viral videos can also give you the hope that you too, might someday be known by the world and be a viral video star. That’s a pretty exciting thought, right? I’m not saying viral videos are some God that needs to be worshipped or anything like that, but they definitely have a magic to them, wouldn’t you agree?

I recently found out about this Youtube personality named King Baldwin. You may have heard of him.
He plays piano CRAZY style…like no one else I’ve ever seen! He’s one of the best piano players I’ve ever heard – literally.
His style is so unique, it’s like no other. And what’s even more, he plays video game songs on the piano!! How can you beat that??
Most notably are his Castlevania songs from Super Castlevania 4. Simon’s theme is his best rendition in my opinion..it’s spot on to the game’s actual theme!
He also wears a cool mask in all his videos and talks in a unique voice..you just have to see it to understand what I’m talking about. Here is one of his videos so you can see how awesome he is Enjoy!
Do you vlog or blog?

Not too long ago, I started doing some vlogging. If you don’t know already, vlogging is like blogging, only your speaking on video, rather than typing a blog post.
I fell in love with vlogging, because it’s actually really fun! So is blogging of course, but vlogging is just fun in a different way! Vlogging is more personal in my opinion.
The truth is, there’s a level of connection you can get with video that is difficult to get with just words and pictures. When someone is speaking on video, you can HEAR and SEE them.
It’s not as “anonymous” you could say. I’m not saying I love vlogging more than blogging, they’re just different but equal to me. Also with vlogging you don’t have to actually be at a computer to do it! Which is also really awesome
