Being a loyal AVGN fan means watching every episode that comes out. Some are better than others, true, but have you ever thought about exactly how much work goes into making an episode?
It’s a lot more than most people realize. I just watched the Bugs Bunny’s Birthday Blowout Commentary episode that James and Mike did, and man, those guys go through ALOT to make an episode of AVGN.
We don’t realize it when we watch it, and some episodes may be really simple, but think of all the editing they do. And the special effects, I bet those take the longest. And then, if it’s only Mike and James, they have to trade off holding the camera.
Then they have to do all the acting which probably adds to their frustration. But I’m sure at the same time they have a whole lot of fun doing the episodes. It’s well worth all the trouble, because each episode is like a masterpiece at least in my mind.
I know if it were just one person makin the episodes it would probably be almost too much to handle, or at least you would have to make lots of cuts and do away with certain aspects.
I wonder how much they spend on doing special effects and stuff like that. I know that alot of it they do with photoshop, but even photoshop has it’s limitations. They probably have some other kind of computer editing and special effects software…I mean I know they at least have to have an editing program.
I’ll always be a die hard AVGN fan. To James Rolfe, Mike Matei and the rest of the folks at Cinemassacre.com keep doin what you do and bringin the awesomeness!
